Comparison with RBackup Online Backup Software for Service Providers

In October 2015 Ahsay changed their licensing model and prices. They went WAY up on cost. On October 28, 2015 when we wrote this, Ahsay's pricing for ten (10) "purchase model" licenses is US$1800. (RBS' pricing for 20 permanent licenses is only $699.) They require an $800 "deposit" for their "meter model".

Here is a comparison of Ahsay's "purchase model" and RBS' Permanent Licensing for the cost for a typical small network, using the most expensive licenses available from RBS at $17.99 each, based on our 100-License Premium Pack. The actual RBS price can be much lower depending on quantity purchased - as low as $4.25 each.

RBS is FAR FAR less expensive.

In October 2015 with their Version 7 Ahsay changed their licensing model. It now requires one "obm" license for each VM. Previously a single license could back up multiple VMs. They charge US$0.80 per month for each Exchange mailbox (meter model) and US$12 (purchase model). With RBackup you can back up as many VMs as you like with a single Server Edition which uses 4 licenses. With RBackup, just 4 licenses can back up unlimited VMs, unlimited Exchange mailboxes, SQL Server, Sharepoint, Full Drive Image, Active Directory, AND all the other backup targets we support.

RBS backs up FAR more devices per license.

If you can read that, then Ahsay might be the right software for you. If you can't, you might want to reconsider, because Ahsay is a Chinese company in Hong Kong. This says "May I have Technical Support, please?" It's something you might be typing in an email to Ahsay because that's about the only way to get tech support, and many of their "partners" complain it takes days to get a response. Their support is only during Hong Kong business hours, and if you want support right away it will cost you US$800 per case, and US$1600 after Hong Kong business hours! RBS only charges $300 per case for after hours support, and we are MUCH faster during our USA business hours.

RBS is an American company based in Memphis, Tennessee USA since 1987. You can pick up the phone and call us during your busienss hours, and you can get through to an English-speaking support engineer quickly.

That's right. Ahsay offers online backup services to the same prospects you do. And they can undercut your prices because they don't have to pay for their expensive software year after year after year. Why would you buy software from someone who is competing unfairly with you? This unfair competition is angering many of Ahsay's partners.

RBS sells ONLY to Service Providers. We do not (and will never) compete with our own customers by offering Online Backup Services to the public.

RBS is simply a better product and a better company. We founded the Online Backup industry in 1987. We have far more experience in the business, and we have many more successful Service Providers because of it. Our software is better, more robust, more brandable, easier to work with, and less expensive.
